The land where it is located was donated to the people of Acapulco by Mr. Wolfgang Schoenborn Stuertz in 1975, during the administration of Governor Rubén Figueroa Alcocer, who managed the donation of the land.

History of the Acapulco Cultural Center
The project and construction of the Acapulco Cultural Center was carried out by the architects Jorge Eduardo and Héctor Coz Cortés. It is inaugurated on March 20, 1976, by the then Constitutional President, Luis Echeverría Álvarez.
In 2011, during the government of Governor Zeferino Torreblanca Galindo and with C. Nora Elisa Méndez as Director of the Guerrero Institute for Culture (IGC), remodeling work was carried out on the building.
Japanese and English language courses are taught, as well as drawing, painting, crafts, sculpture, guitar, piano, violin, folk dance, Arabic dance, theater, vocalization and choral singing workshops.
